Synchronous training & Skill Development Webinar

On March 3, 2025, Basketball-KTN partner YSSUKRAINE led a synchronous webinar focused on basketball training methodologies, skill development, and athlete preparation. This session provided valuable insights into structured training approaches, inclusive practices, and the psychological resilience required in sports.


The webinar opened with an overview of basketball’s role in fostering teamwork, physical development, and inclusivity. The importance of pre-training medical examinations was emphasized to ensure the safety and readiness of athletes.


A well-organized training framework was discussed, guiding athletes from fundamental skills to advanced gameplay. The session highlighted:

  • Game-specific techniques, including dribbling, passing, and shooting.
  • Physical conditioning to enhance endurance, strength, and coordination.
  • The critical role of coaches in motivation, guidance, and personalized training.


The webinar also explored strategies for athlete selection and development, covering:

  • Talent identification and balancing individual and team progress.
  • Tailored training for different experience levels, from beginners to professionals.
  • The importance of mental preparation to build resilience and focus in competitive sports.


Given the challenging conditions in modern sports training, the importance of safety-first practices was reinforced, alongside the need for adaptable schedules such as online and individual programs. Special attention was given to youth inclusion, particularly in working with displaced youth, ensuring sports serve as a means of social integration and mental well-being.


The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of basketball’s role in both personal and community development.
