The Basketball-KTN Erasmus+ Sport project continues to bridge sport with holistic youth development, offering initiatives that combine athletic growth with education, psychological support, and community building. Across partner countries, new sessions and events have empowered young athletes, parents, and coaches with valuable guidance on time management, emotional resilience, dual careers, and team values.
University of Belgrade – A Dual Career and Lifelong Skills Approach
The University of Belgrade organized a series of educational activities highlighting the concept of a dual career in sport, demonstrating how young athletes can combine academic and sporting ambitions for long-term stability. Guest speakers included a professional basketball referee who shared insights on taking up refereeing as a career and discussed relationships between referees, players, coaches, and parents.
Additionally, a practical training was held for children, future physical education teachers, and youth coaches, showing how basketball drills can foster self-confidence and group cohesion. Activities focused on ball-handling, passing, shooting, and dribbling, demonstrating how sport can support psychological growth alongside physical skills.

College Basketball SSDRL – The Bovio League: More Than Just a Tournament
In Italy, College Basketball SSDRL launched the first phase of the Bovio League, a unique youth basketball competition designed to promote collaboration and community among small-town clubs.
Unlike traditional tournaments, mixed teams were formed from different clubs, allowing athletes to build friendships, share new roles, and embrace fair play. Meanwhile, families were introduced to the Basketball-KTN project, with representatives offering live information on how the initiative supports basketball communities across Europe.
The event closed with a group photo and a shared invitation to watch a Serie B match, strengthening bonds both on and off the court.
Uniting Sport With Future Readiness
Across all these activities, a central theme emerges: basketball is a tool for life. Through development-focused sessions in Serbia, psychological support in Greece, and engaging community formats in Italy, the Basketball-KTN project continues to promote an educational and socially responsible vision of youth basketball.
Whether building individual character, balancing school and sport, or strengthening community through tournaments, the KTN journey isn’t just about improving the game—it’s about nurturing the person behind the athlete.
