Basketball-KTN Joins Summer Camp in Calasetta to Boost Youth Skills and Sports Values

On July 9, 2025, the College Basketball SSDRL team delivered an impactful coaching clinic and summer camp session in Calasetta (Cagliari), as part of the Basketball-KTN Erasmus+ Project. The event gathered 45 young athletes (33 boys and 12 girls) from various clubs in the region, offering them an exceptional opportunity to develop both basketball skills and key personal values.

Focus: “Building Self-Confidence & Managing Stress and Anxiety”

The session’s educational backbone revolved around emotional management in sport—providing the participants not only with practical basketball exercises, but also valuable life skills related to handling pressure, building personal resilience, and fostering self-confidence.

Methodology and Engagement

The camp alternated between:

  • Lectures and presentations covering basketball fundamentals: spacing, passing, defense, and teamwork.
  • On-court drills and activities, allowing players to immediately put theory into practice.
  • Interactive discussions with coaches and parents, creating shared value across all stakeholders and reinforcing the importance of community support in sports development.

What gave the initiative an added layer of innovation was the introduction of the Basketball-KTN Community —an online and offline network that connects clubs, coaches, and athletes across Europe. This platform encourages knowledge-sharing and strengthens collaboration by giving long-term access to training resources, expert content, and support.

Active Participation & Impact

Participants showed high enthusiasm and engagement throughout the day. They reflected on what it means to be an "ideal player" — not just technically strong, but mentally ready, cooperative, and disciplined. Parents and coaches attending the session gained essential insights into modern training approaches promoted by the KTN framework.

As part of the project’s mission, this initiative is one of many that aim to bridge the gap between urban centers and smaller regions, ensuring that sport is accessible, inclusive, and a tool for personal growth.
