The European Erasmus+ Sport project Basketball KTN was successfully presented during a dedicated Round Table Discussion held on 5 December 2025 at the Grand Hotel Palace in Thessaloniki, within the framework of the 25th Sport & Recreation Management Conference (HSASMR).
The Round Table, titled “Social Participation, Networks & Knowledge Transfer in Youth Basketball,” brought together key representatives from European basketball federations, universities, and organizations to exchange knowledge and explore the challenges and opportunities related to youth basketball development, social inclusion, and knowledge transfer through sport.
During the session, a comprehensive overview of the Basketball KTN project was delivered, highlighting its main objectives, implemented activities, and key results. The project aims to build a strong European cooperation network that supports young athletes, enhances participation in sport, and promotes sustainable development within the basketball ecosystem.
Special recognition was given to Eleni Anoyrkati (Coventry University), who moderated the Round Table Discussion and played a pivotal role in the development of the project proposal.

The project is supported by a strong European partnership. Representatives from Italy, Spain, Ukraine, and Serbia shared valuable experiences and best practices, contributing to the development of a common European framework for youth basketball.
Through collaboration between federations, universities, and organizations, Basketball KTN continues to build a sustainable European network that strengthens knowledge exchange, promotes social participation, and creates new opportunities for young athletes.
